Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: May 2026 · ticket.aadtech.ng is a product of AADTECH.NG
Before you read further: ticket.aadtech.ng is a software platform — we connect buyers with event organisers. We are not the event organiser, and we are not an insurance company. When you buy a ticket, your contract is with the organiser. We hold ticket funds in escrow to protect you, but what we can refund is limited to what is in that escrow at the time of any dispute. Always read the organiser's refund policy before you pay — it is displayed clearly on every event page.
1. What ticket.aadtech.ng Is — and Is Not
ticket.aadtech.ng provides the software that organisers use to sell tickets and that buyers use to purchase them. We process payments on behalf of organisers and hold proceeds in escrow until after the event.
We are not a co-organiser, co-host, promoter, or guarantor of any event on this platform. We do not vet, inspect, or warrant the quality, safety, legality, or delivery of any event. The legal obligation to deliver the event — and to refund buyers if it is not delivered — rests entirely with the event organiser.
Our responsibility is to ensure the software works correctly, payments are processed securely, and escrow funds are managed according to our published schedule. Our liability is limited as described in the Terms of Service Section 9. Nothing in this Refund Policy creates obligations beyond those limits.
2. How Escrow Protects You
Every ticket payment made through this platform is held in an escrow account — separate from AADTECH.NG's operating funds and separate from the organiser's personal or business accounts. For Tier 1 organisers, the organiser cannot access these funds until after their event has taken place and the payout schedule conditions are met.
This means that if a Tier 1 event is cancelled before it happens, the funds are still in escrow and available for refund processing. It does not mean AADTECH.NG can guarantee a full refund in every scenario — if the organiser received a legitimate advance payout before cancellation, that portion may not be recoverable by the platform.
For Tier 2 (Business) organisers, payments are processed via a dedicated Flutterwave subaccount with daily settlement to the organiser's bank. In this case, funds may have already been settled to the organiser's bank before any cancellation request. Buyers dealing with Tier 2 organisers should be aware that the escrow delay does not apply and should factor this into their assessment of refund risk.
3. If an Event Is Cancelled by the Organiser
If an organiser cancels their event, the following applies:
The organiser is legally obligated under Nigerian consumer protection law (FCCPA 2018) to refund all ticket buyers. AADTECH.NG will cooperate fully with any legitimate refund process.
What we will do:
— Release any escrow balance held at the time of cancellation for refund processing.
— Provide the organiser with the full buyer list, order references, and payment details to facilitate refunds.
— Suspend the organiser's account from creating new events pending resolution of all outstanding refunds.
What we will not do and cannot promise:
— Refund amounts already paid out to the organiser as legitimate advance or subaccount settlements before the cancellation.
— Process individual refunds directly to all buyers at large event scale — at scale, refunds are coordinated between the organiser, the payment processors, and buyers.
— Guarantee a specific refund timeline where the organiser is uncooperative, unreachable, or insolvent.
If the organiser is uncooperative, your primary recourse is:
— Your bank or card issuer: Initiate a chargeback for card payments (typically within 60–120 days of the transaction).
— FCCPC: File a complaint with the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission at fccpc.gov.ng.
— Nigerian courts: Small claims process at Magistrate Court for amounts below ₦5 million.
4. If AADTECH.NG Cancels an Event
AADTECH.NG may cancel a listed event if we determine the organiser has acted fraudulently, listed a prohibited event type, or committed a serious violation of our Terms of Service. In this case:
— We will freeze the organiser's escrow balance and any pending subaccount settlements immediately.
— We will notify all buyers by email of the cancellation and the reason.
— We will release the available frozen balance to fund refunds, processed through the original payment channel where technically possible.
— We will report the organiser to appropriate Nigerian authorities — including the EFCC, FCCPC, and CAC — where warranted.
The refund amount per buyer is limited to their pro-rata share of the available frozen balance. If the balance is insufficient to cover all refunds in full — for example, because subaccount settlements had already occurred — buyers will receive partial refunds from the available balance. AADTECH.NG does not supplement this balance from its own funds.
Platform fees are refunded in full when AADTECH.NG initiates the cancellation due to fraud or Terms violation.
5. Buyer-Initiated Refund Requests
If you want to cancel your ticket before the event, your eligibility depends entirely on the refund policy the organiser selected when creating the event. This policy is displayed clearly on the event page before you pay — it is your responsibility to read it before purchasing.
The four possible organiser refund policies are:
— No Refund: Once purchased, the ticket is non-refundable. The organiser stated this upfront and we enforce it.
— Within 24 Hours: You may cancel within 24 hours of purchase for a full refund.
— Within 48 Hours: You may cancel within 48 hours of purchase for a full refund.
— Within 7 Days of Event: You may cancel up to 7 days before the event date for a full refund.
To request a refund within the allowed window, email support@ticket.aadtech.ng with your order reference number (starts with "ORD-"). We will acknowledge within 1 business day.
The platform fee (as displayed at time of purchase) is not refunded on buyer-initiated cancellations. It is refunded only when the organiser or AADTECH.NG initiates the cancellation.
6. Honest Refund Timelines
We will not make promises we cannot keep. Here is an honest picture:
Individual buyer cancellations within the allowed window:
Typically 5 to 10 business days after approval. Card refunds depend on your bank's processing — some banks reflect refunds in 3 days; others take up to 15 business days. We have no control over your bank's processing speed once we initiate the refund.
Event cancellations — small to medium scale (under 500 tickets):
We aim to initiate refund processing within 5 business days of confirmed cancellation and receipt of necessary details from the organiser.
Event cancellations — large scale (thousands of tickets):
Mass refunds at scale require coordination with Flutterwave's bulk transfer systems. This process can take 2 to 6 weeks depending on volume, payment method mix, and organiser cooperation. We will send email updates to affected buyers at regular intervals.
We will never promise a refund date we are not confident we can meet.
7. Manual Bank Transfer Orders
If you paid via manual bank transfer and your proof of payment has not yet been reviewed by the organiser:
— You may cancel your order immediately by emailing support@ticket.aadtech.ng with your order reference.
— No ticket will have been issued and no funds will have moved at this stage.
If your proof of payment was reviewed and approved by the organiser and your ticket was issued:
— The organiser's refund policy applies as set out in Section 5.
If your proof of payment was reviewed and rejected by the organiser:
— No ticket was issued. No funds were deducted from you. No action is required on your part.
Note: AADTECH.NG does not verify manual transfer proofs — the organiser is solely responsible for reviewing them. If you believe a proof was incorrectly rejected, contact the organiser directly or reach out to support@ticket.aadtech.ng.
8. Ticket Transfers
Where an organiser has enabled ticket transfers for their event, you may transfer your ticket to another person rather than requesting a refund. Ticket transfer functionality is available on supported events — check the organiser's event page or your ticket page to confirm availability.
Where transfers are available:
— A transfer is free of charge.
— Each ticket may be transferred a limited number of times as set by the organiser.
— The new attendee's name is updated on the ticket record. The original QR code remains valid.
Where ticket transfers are not enabled by the organiser, or where the feature is not yet available for your event type, you may not transfer your ticket. In this case, the organiser's refund policy is your only option.
AADTECH.NG does not facilitate peer-to-peer ticket resale. Any resale arrangement between individual buyers is entirely outside our platform and is not our responsibility.
9. Sponsored Placement Refunds
Organisers who purchase featured or sponsored event placements (homepage hero, browse page, category top, or related events sections) are subject to the following:
— Placement fees are non-refundable once the placement has been activated and begun displaying.
— If you cancel your event after your placement is active, the placement fee is forfeited. We will remove the placement but will not refund the fee.
— If AADTECH.NG cancels your event due to fraud or Terms violation, your placement fee is refunded in full.
— If a technical error on our side prevents your placement from displaying as booked, we will either extend the placement duration or provide a proportional refund for the affected period.
— Placement fees do not include a performance guarantee. We do not refund placements because they did not generate expected ticket sales.
10. What Is Never Refunded
The following are non-refundable under all circumstances:
— The platform fee on buyer-initiated cancellations.
— Tickets purchased under a "No Refund" policy where the organiser has not cancelled the event.
— Tickets where the buyer-initiated refund window has expired at the time of the request.
— Any ticket where the QR code has already been scanned and used for entry — a used ticket is a used ticket.
— Sponsored placement fees once the placement has been active.
These limits exist to protect organisers who plan and deliver events in good faith and incur real costs. A no-refund policy is a legitimate business choice — we enforce it as agreed at the time of purchase.
11. Your Recourse Outside This Platform
If you are dissatisfied with how a refund matter has been handled and our internal process has not resolved it, you have options:
— Your bank or card issuer: For card payments via Flutterwave, you may initiate a chargeback. Contact your bank directly. Chargeback windows are typically 60 to 120 days from the original transaction date — do not wait.
— FCCPC: The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission handles consumer disputes. File at fccpc.gov.ng.
— Magistrate Court (Small Claims): For amounts below ₦5 million, Nigerian Magistrate Courts offer a relatively accessible small claims process.
AADTECH.NG will cooperate fully and honestly with any investigation by a legitimate Nigerian authority.
